The greek word Nóstos means return, return to the land, to the roots, to the origins.

Region: Basilicata
Kind of wine: Aglianico del Vulture D.O.C

Grape variety: Aglianico 100%

The family-owned vineyards, Arcidiaconata and Colignelli, in the vicinity of Rapolla and Melfi, are 40 years old and grow on the volcanic soils of Mount Vulture.

The training system is Guyot with a density of 4,000 vines per hectar, producing with low yields at harvest time towards the end of October.

The classical vinification is undertaken with crushed and destemmed grapes, maceration takes place on the skins in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for 12/15 days.

First of all, the wine is refined in steel containers, then it is put briefly into small oak barrels, resulting in a solid structure, concentrated and powerful, with a subtle natural balance, characteristic of a real Aglianico del Vulture.

Deep ruby in colour, it has a rich bouquet with strong mineral and liquorice elements, and ferrous and lavic notes, together with Mediterranean scrub and black pepper. Displaying freshness and vivacity, it has a correct fruit component.

Warm to the palate, it is ample and layered, with a solid tannin structure, which is well emphasized and not aggressive, and having a full- bodied, vigorous conclusion.

Served in wide glasses at 18°C, it accompanies red meat, game and mature cheese.
