Nerello Mascalese vine is indigenous to Sicily, and in particular native of Mount Etna.Antichi Vinai’s Mascalese comes from 100% Nerello Mascalese vines grown on the slopes of the volcano, vinifi ed in purity, with a special technique aimed to enhancing its delicate floral scent and an aromatic fragrance never highlighted before for this kind of wine. It mantains its structure and softness, nonetheless for this special quality it has proved suitable to sophisticated fish dishes.

Grape varieties: 100 % Nerello Mascalese
Production area: Vineyards on the slopes of Volcano Etna, in Castiglione di Sicilia and Randazzoareas. Counter-espalier and tree-like growing on volcanic-origin sandy soils, with strong thermic changes between day and night at ripening phase
Production technique: Grape manual harvest in the first decade of October. Cryo-maceration of the grapes with an extension of the ripening phase for some days, at a low temperature
Raising: In steel for at least 4 months
Colour: Soft red ruby with pleasant violet shades
Perfume: Intense flowery, typical of the grape variety, with pleasant fresh fruit hints
Taste: Fresh, round persistent with a fruity aftertaste
Food pairing: Versatile with both white meats and fish, and even with elaborate dishes
Alcoholic strength: 13,5 % vol.
