Pinot Nero, or Pinot Noir in French, originates from Burgundy and has been cultivated in Alto Adige for more than a century. The grapes for this Pinot Nero grow on selected sites on the slopes of the Renon in the Bolzano area.

Cultivating area: Warm and well-ventilated sites on Renon and in Oberleitach at 500-750m a.s.l. (1640-2460 ft)

Harvest date: September

Vinification: Fermentation in stainless steel. Partly matured in wooden casks.

Color: Rich ruby red

Aroma: Floral with notes of violets; fruity notes of raspberry and plum; spicy; licorice

Flavor: Medium-bodied, delicious fruitiness and pleasantly incorporated tannin.
Food pairing: At its best when paired with seared beef, lamb, duck or pheasant. Delicious with medium-aged cheese.
