Grapes: 85% Piedirosso, 15% Aglianico

Production area: Vesuvian countries

Altitude: 150 m s.l.m.
Type of soil: volcanic / sandy

Vinification: Grapes harvested by hand at full ripeness are severely selected and then destalked and pressed. The fermentation takes place in steel at controlled temperature with maceration 8 days on skins. The wine is always aged in surplus steel for 6 months and at least 2 months of aging in bottle.

Organoleptic characteristics:

Color: red with violet reflections.
Fragrance: fresh red fruit aromas such as strawberry and raspberry, also spicy remnants.Flavor: fruity, fresh and greasy, with good texture and soft tannins.

Gourmet Food Matching: great in pairing with roasts and noble poultry, spicy cheeses and stuffed peppers. Very good also the pairing with handcrafted pasta and Neapolitan ragout.

The Piedirosso vine: A red grape variety most cultivated on Mount Vesuvius is known by the dialectical term "Per" and "Palummo", which describes a morphological characteristic of the rachis that sees the pedicels of colored grains of red as those of a paw of dove. Very vigorous vine, with late ripening with yields are very low. Medium size of bunch, generally spatula, medium-large grapes, spherical with large purple violet skin.
